The Many Authentic Masks of You

The notion of the masks we wear is a common way to describe the ways in which we interface with the world. I’m not quite sure how this happened, however it’s not uncommon for masks to be defined as a bad thing. With this understanding the goal is to remove the masks so that you may more authentically interact with the world. This approach is poor because eventually you’ll find that you can’t escape the masks. The issue is that eventually you must come down to some sort of consistent personality, if even for a moment if time. A consistent personality makes interfacing with the world much easier. This is a good thing.

You might want to try understanding masks from the following perspective. Each mask represents some authentic aspects of you. Yes, of course this is not the whole you, but this indeed a part of you. And by putting on the mask and expressing yourself as fully as possible with that mask then you are being authentic and true to that mask.

Additionally, try being true and authentic with each mask you wear.

Interestingly, what do you think happens when each face you show the world is authentic?
